Longman Academic Writing develops the writing skills that students need to success in their academic careers. This five-level series takes students from composing sentences to writing research papers.
At each level, the course guides students in the complete writing process from prewriting to revision, and provides them with clear explanations, extensive practice, and consistently covers sentence mechanics and grammar.
The Longman Academic Reading Series is a five-level series that prepares English language learners for academic work. High-interest readings cover a variety of subjects, including art history, nutrition, American literature, and forensics.
The series takes a holistic approach to the skills and strategies necessary for effective reading, vocabulary building, note-taking, and critical thinking. By encouraging students to discuss and write about the ideas covered in the readings, the series helps them become better speakers and writers of English.
Longman Academic Writing is refreshed
We have refreshed Longman Academic Writing with new digital and updated components, to improve the learning experience for students, and make it easier to teach remotely.
- MyEnglishLab has additional practice activities, including data analysis, exercises and assessments, as well as auto-grading of activities and new mid-term and final assessments. It is now also available for Level 5.
- The series comes with the Pearson Practice English App, where students can complete vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, and data analysis activities. The app is available with the Student Book and the new Reader+.
- The Student Book is available as an eBook: the format is Reader+.
- Teacher’s resources are available online in the Pearson English Portal and include pdfs of the Teacher’s Manual with detailed teaching notes, writing scoring rubrics, chapter quizzes, and answer keys; and GSE mapping booklets.
